"Terrível"

Boijmans TV is a new programme about art and takes us on a journey in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. We not only meet an artist, but also museum visitors, the guards, a tour guide and the employee of the technical service is a perfect location for a television programme about the many faces of art. The museum has a world-class collection ranging from Old Masters to modern and contemporary art. But the museum does not draw a strict distinction between these periods. The relationship between historical and recent art has been cast in a new light since the installation in early 2007 of a work by the contemporary artist Maurizio Cattelan in a gallery among Old Master paintings. This installation plays an important role in Boijmans TV.

This second episode of Boijmans TV is called Mooi Lelijk ('Beautiful Terrible'). Museum guard Arie does not understand that artist Lily van der Stokker want to make art that she calls 'Terrible'. Her exhibition 'Terrible' was on view in Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. Arie interviews Van der Stokker and wants to know if it is difficult or easy to compose an ugly drawing. In the meantime guide Bregje is host to a group muscled men of sport school Vreeland, who are very moved when they see the work I'm too sad to tell you of artist Bas Ader.
